The aim of B. Sc. Nursing Program is :

  1. To prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services.
  2. To prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manager in a clinical/public health setting

On completion of the four year B.Sc Nursing program the graduate will be able to

PO1:To apply the knowledge from physical, biological and behavioral sciences, medicine, including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities. Graduates will be able to recall and identify foundational nursing concepts, theories, and terminology and apply this knowledge in nursing practice.

PO2:To explain the key nursing concepts, procedures, and patient care techniques nursing process and its application in patient care, including the steps of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation

PO3:To apply and translate their theoretical & evidence-based knowledge into practical skills, to manage common clinical conditions, allowing them to provide effective, research-informed care in various clinical settings in order to get improved patient outcomes.

PO4:To make informed nursing decisions by analyzing patient data, including clinical assessments and diagnostic information, to identify health problems and develop appropriate care plans.

PO5:To design and implement innovative, comprehensive, evidence-based care plans that integrate interdisciplinary knowledge and address complex patient needs.

PO6:To evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and patient care plans by analyzing patient outcomes and making evidence-based recommendations for adjustments and improvements in order to achieve improved patient outcomes.

PO7:To analyze complex patient care scenarios to identify underlying issues and formulate effective, evidence-based nursing interventions. The graduates have the skills to tackle clinical problems through thorough analysis, leading to more accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

PO8:To investigate and analyze complex patient care problems by utilizing critical thinking and research skills to develop and implement effective, evidence-based solutions."

PO9:To collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans that enhance patient outcomes.

PO10:To clearly communicate patient needs, care plans, and progress to team members, ensuring that all aspects of patient care are coordinated and understood.

PO11:To apply ethical principles and professional standards to make informed decisions and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
