OVERVIEW OF MEDICAL-SURGICAL NURSING DEPARTMENT

The Medical Surgical Nursing (MSN) Department trains students to satisfy specified educational and clinical competency criteria pertaining to fundamental and advanced topics, and to become well-qualified professionals in the nursing art and science. In addition to teaching students how to independently carry out tasks related to illness prevention, workplace advocacy, professional development, national leadership, research, and other areas of the health care delivery system, it also prepares them for key roles in these areas. The department offers clinical services such as patient treatment, in-service education, health screening, clinical administration, clinical supervision of students, and research activities.

OBJECTIVES

  • To impart essential knowledge in both medical and surgical nursing care.
  • To provide clinical learning experience & opportunities to students of various categories placed in the department.
  • To provide comprehensive education and skills training in medical-surgical nursing care, emphasizing proficiency in procedure.
  • To ensure students achieve clinical competence through hands-on training in simulated and high-fidelity mannequins to mirror real-life medical scenarios.
  • To integrate advanced technologies (such as simulation labs) into the curriculum to enhance students’ clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • To build up research potential and enhance evidenced based practice among students.

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) -

  • Implementing best practice CPR training among school students is an essential initiative that empowers young individuals to act confidently and effectively in emergency situations. Early intervention during cardiac emergencies can significantly increase survival rates, and by equipping students with this critical life-saving skill, we are taking a proactive step toward building a safer and more prepared community. Our program is dedicated to delivering high-quality training, led by certified professionals who adhere to the most current guidelines. Through this initiative, we aim to make CPR a fundamental skill that every student possesses, ensuring they are ready to respond when it matters most.

  • The Program is designed to empower individuals with the essential knowledge and skills needed to respond confidently to emergencies. This comprehensive program covers a wide range of first aid techniques, from basic wound care to life-saving procedures.

  • Anatomy Orientation Class-

  • This class is designed specifically for school students to provide a solid introduction to human anatomy in a fun and interactive way. It aims to ignite students' curiosity, deepen their interest in biology, and create a strong foundation of knowledge that will support their future studies in health and science.
